I've got two cool things to show you.
One is these tracks. Check 'em out! I was out for a walk Wednesday morning with the dog, when he stopped to sniff something. I looked down and saw these tracks. Now, I know this picture doesn't do justice to the size of the tracks, so....
Check this out! That's my size ten sneaker next to that track! Which makes it about 5 inches long or so! Yes, these were big tracks. I haven't looked them up online yet, but I'm thinking it was our neighborhood bear (whom I have yet to see, but whom the neighbors have seen plenty of, especially in the springtime). At first I was thinking of the possibility of big cat, as in wild cat, but I think bear is more likely.
And the other cool thing is these funky hats.
For a while now, I've been wondering, what can I do to help contribute to the family income. I kept wondering and letting go, wondering and letting it go. A while back, the pastor at our church told me about these funky hats and bags she sews, and if I'd ever like to, she could use the help sewing them. I can sew alright, but at the time, I wasn't sure how I'd find the time, or if I could do it well enough, or if I wanted to. So I let it go for then. About a week ago I was talking to Janet again, and telling her that Billy's work is slow. Again, she offered the sewing. She said if I'd be interested, she could really use my help, because she has more orders than she can keep up with. I gladly accepted her offer this time.
And these are the funky, beautiful results. Don't you love them?
For me, this is another one of those times that shows me that if I just let go, ask for help, and be willing to do the footwork, answers will come. Thanks, HP!
I've finished 20 of them over the last few days, and I'll be picking up more tomorrow. Soon she'll be showing me how to do the bags, too. Can't wait to share them with you, too. They're great - and just as funky!
I also finished up my quarterly reports for the school, finally. It's always good to have them out of the way.
Shane's birthday is coming up Wednesday. He'll be turning 7. And...he's learning to read. We're both so excited! More about homeschooling and learning to read another time.
Hope you had a great Turkey Day , and life is treating you well.
